About hundred-years-old Olive Trees in Spain

Information about the Olive Tree ▪ The Olive Tree market

undefined   Still Under Construction  undefined

This «Blog» is dedicated to let a bit better know the Olive Tree, more especially the Empeltre, a Spanish variety, slightly or less known and one of the hardiest.

You will also find the main information about the different Olive trees varieties coming across Spain; as well as generally speaking information about the Olive Tree, a fruit tree that on the contrary people might think is not a single variety, but consist of hundreds of varieties which were developed with the passing time and lands he conquered.

Spain is most probably the country that counts the widest varieties and sub-varieties diversity of the Olive tree, but unfortunately also a country where the information circulates badly and isn’t shared too much.
The obsolete administrative structures, gap of references, and collaboration lack didn’t really made the redaction of those few pages easy, which willed the more complete as can be without entering the detail of Olive tree culture.

It is certainly neither an encyclopedia, nor a piece of advice collection about its cultivation or Olive production; therefore, we deeply suggest you to refer to your nursery.

Tree from the sun, some varieties lend anyway to colder climes and harshest winters; it is to one of those one, the Empeltre or Spanish Aragonite, we dedicate more in particular this «Blog».

The present «Blog» do not mention any commercial information
